So, once again we get to work with The Other Art Fair.

This year it was held at a new venue and what a great venue it was!

Victoria House Basement has been on our radar for a while and it proved to be the perfect back drop for 120 upcoming artists to display their work. Sales of art went through the roof, breaking all previous records. A testimony to the quality and variety of work on display.

If you need some original art work for your home or office you’re sure to find something to suit your taste at The Other Art Fair – we bought two pieces, a print by Dan Hillier and a lovely little piece by Jo Beattie.

We built white walled exhibition stands and supplied long arm chrome spotlights to all stands. We also sorted out all of the stand and venue signage using birch ply and cut vinyl. We rigged around 40 speakers in the ceiling across the venue and sorted out the DJ kit and PA.

Victoria House Basement isn’t the easiest venue to work in. We had to handball everything down a flight of stairs – not usually an issue but this was a Grade 2 listed staircase so we had to be very careful not to damage anything. Power supply was a challenge and my electricians had to run out over 1km of cabling to get lights and power sorted. And the floor – oh my the floor. The venue had just painted the floor in a beautiful light grey paint, it shone and sparkled and we were the first tenants to use the venue. Dear reader, we did our best not to mark or scratch the floor we really did but with so much activity and traffic I’m sure we didn’t leave it quite as we found it!

Visitors to the show could enjoy a beautifully prepared Gin & Tonic by Fever Tree or a refreshing pint of Meantime Beer. Food was from the Long Dog Pub small plate pop up and very tasty it was too! Our favourite coffee guys Monkshood Coffee kept everyone alert.

It must have been a good show because I even found some time to DJ on Friday and Saturday evenings – me DJing – its not something that is seen very often. Big thanks to Paddy for sharing the decks with me.

So, photos – that’s what we’re here for really huh? The very talented Elina came along on Saturday and took some wonderful shots, a selection of which are below. If you’d like to see the whole album please visit and like her facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/elinaphotography?fref=ts
